Saw that the other day - I presumed it was just due to the terror thing as they sometimes have special graphics.

Nicholas Owen was right to get out when he did - virtually every major decision made in recent months regarding ITV News has been a bad one, from moving the Lunchtime bulletin, then integrating the local bulletins and now some dodgy presentational decisions.

Another boring ending to the News at 10.30. Just one still camera angle, with James Mates, painfully walking slowly to the desk.

What do you want him to do ? Lambada ?

Well...it would lighten things up a bit. Wink

Can't they just get Nina a box instead then?

Very Happy

Nina forced to get on her soapbox

That explains the increasingly brief wide shot in the opening sequence. You have to give the relevant person/people credit for their excellent timing of the fade between that and the close-up.

LOL. That's a shame for Nina. Quite clever, though. Maybe they should make Mark kneel down sometimes as well.

That could be a new thread... dance moves that ITV presenters could do, when moving around the studio.

I'd like to see Mark Austin do the moonwalk. Perhaps Alistair Stewart could tap-dance his way around the theatre of news. Or maybe Katie Derham could riverdance....

Strange situation tomorrow night with the late bulletin going out at 10.20pm and so 10 minutes longer.

I'm assuming this is because the movie being shown from 8.30pm doesn't fill 2 hours.

Surely though they could fill it either with more ads, or something like Creature Comforts.

Anyhow, at least they're not showing the final 20 minutes after the news.

Laughing Love it... won't be able to watch now without thinking about that!

Since Monday, the Lunchtime News have spoke to reporters and guests using a split screen graphic, instead of using the studio walls. That's a bit of a waste.

I noticed that- looks a bit poor.

Looks like cost-cutting to me. They no longer use the jib on the lunchtime news - or rather, it's locked off so no need for an operator on the studio floor. Like the weekend bulletins.
