(The bulletin went straight to the news room without titles other than the generic 'GMTV' ones)

ITV Granada took the wraps off some of it's news pres elements this morning. The studio has been tainted slight green (in line with ITV1's colourscheme) and there is a new DOG at the bottom left replacing the old 'squares' one.

So here's how the astons will be animated. Step 1: A translucent bar rise-fades from just below where it is pictured above.

Step 2: The green loses its translucency from the bottom up.

Step 3: A radial wave of green errupts across the aston, starting bottom left. This fills in the pre | area.

Step 4: Finally, in an almost sky|one method, the white bar sweeps right and reveals the name before sweeping back to it's original position.

A faster reversed effect is used to remove the aston from view.

And finally a look at the weather. It'll be wet and miser.... oh right. If you look at the top right corner, you'll notice the new ITV Weather logo in full glory.

Well Calendar is pretty boring this morning. Background in the studio is the new style (we've never had a view of somewhere, used to be blue squares) but that's about it! No graphics in use whatsoever.

Tyne Tees had no dog but did use new astons (smaller version than Granda's). Studio colour had changed and they had the iTv North East News graphic on the plazmas. They also had a animated weather graphic.

Ooooooooooooo - that backdrop looked really great on the ITV News Summary at 10:55 - can't wait for the ITV Lunchtime News now!

Also they've changed the ITN endcap!

Looks like there is a london backdrop and a outline of a clock on the background. The music is the same but slightly higher at the end. One thing im dissapointed about - Katies back lol

Yes, I noticed that, too. It seems to have a shimmer to it now. That was quite nice.

I'm not sure yet about the ITV News titles - visually they were quite busy but I'll have a proper look at a full bulletin at lunchtime. The music was interesting. They've kept the signature tune but there seems to be a lot more percussion than before. Again, it sounded quite 'busy'. Hopefully it will grow on me the more times I hear it. That's certainly what happened with the 2004-2006 music.
