Their was now pan accross the studio to the presenters at the start of the Evening News on Friday. It looked much better anyhow.
The Saturday night bulletin was a disgrace. It started nearly 10mins late, and only lasted about 10mins, surely it should have started on time because of the breaking news that night and lasted a bit longer. Stupid timing aswell 11.25pm - surely 10.25pm would have been better before Dame Edna.
Why are ITV News being so aloof about the terror stories? Being the alarmist news provider they are, I would have thought they would have a field day this weekend!
Alastair presented the News Summary at 11:10 and then London Today immediately afterwards, which involved a simple background change.
Katie will be presenting both the Lunchtime News (with Alastair) and the following London Today programme so it will be interesting to see which studio is used for the latter.
It was mentioned at the end of last nights Snowmail from Krishnan:
"Even here at the ITN building in London there was a reminder to us all that vigilance and common sense are a daily essential. A suspect vehicle spotted on a nearby street meant we all had to leave the building while the police inspected. There was, it turned out, a perfectly innocent and rational reason for a gas container to be inside the car.
I am sure similar scenes will be played out across Britain in the coming days."

I suppose thats one advantage of having the ITV national and regional bulletins split at lunchtime. They can use one of the ITV Lunchtime News presenters on London Today!
