Why not let's all have a TVF and ITV national news group orgy, we can please ourselves then.

Getting back to the subject, how does everyone think the separation of the regional news from the national bulletins has worked out? I actually think it isn't too bad. Sometimes, I'm only interested in hearing the national news (especially if I've seen regional news earlier in the day) and this arrangement allows me to watch it without having to wait for 10 minutes for the "and finally..." report and close. If I do want regional news, I can stay tuned and watch it afterwards.

I much prefer the seperate regional bulletins. They give them more individuality rather than being just part of the ITV National News.

The reason is because ITN cannot and has not been able to afford to upgrade all the editing equipment to cope with 16:9.

However, this may change and is likely to be reviewed when ITV News starts using new Avid desktop software in the coming months.

Gives ITV chance to cut down the national and regional bulletins down by a couple of minutes and to stick an extra ad-break in too Wink

Didn't want to start a new thread for this so popped it in here

When i watched the behind the scenes video on ITV Local Wales i saw a ITN banner in the Cardiff Newsroom. What is the connection between ITN and the local news programs?

I would guess ITN have a based in ITV's cardiff newsroom for their own Welsh correspondent, who I assume is still Helen Callaghan, who I assume also still hosts Wales This Week.

She does, but Jonathan Hill is hosting it this week for some reason.

Helen Callaghan also used to be a reporter on HTV News (Wales)

There aren't any extra ad-breaks, the lunchtime one is just a bit later than previously.

Believe it or not there are no more ads than there used to be and the regional news minutage (and the national I think) is exactly the same as before Wink
