I'm glad you all admire Geraint Vincent for his newsreading and journalism skills, and not just his looks Wink

Make that a Katie, Nina and Lucy Owen triple decker. Boy, we really have reached new depths in here, haven't we?!

Getting back to the subject, how does everyone think the separation of the regional news from the national bulletins has worked out? I actually think it isn't too bad. Sometimes, I'm only interested in hearing the national news (especially if I've seen regional news earlier in the day) and this arrangement allows me to watch it without having to wait for 10 minutes for the "and finally..." report and close. If I do want regional news, I can stay tuned and watch it afterwards.

Some of you here are much more knowledgeable about ITV News than me, so I just want to ask a question which has been bugging me for ages. When will ITV News begin broadcasting in 16:9 on Sky and Freeview? I can't watch the true 4:3 analogue version because we have severe ghosting from an electricity pylon and it is really annoying when half the graphics are chopped off on Sky. I noticed that the LN promo after Loose Women yesterday was actually in 16:9, so it must be possible. Every other channel is broadcasting their news in 16:9, so ITV are way behind.

I am probably wrong here, but isn't the reason they aren't broadcasting in widescreen yet is due to some regional news programmes not in widescreen, such as Channel Report, but now the regional news is seperate, maybe ITV News can go widescreen?

I like what they've done with the regional news because to be honest I rarely watch it!

Ah, that's interesting, Garry. If that is the case, then they really have no excuse for not going widescreen now. Let's hope it happens soon.
