I realise that the Evening News isn't being shown in Scotland tonight, but it's jaw-dropping that they're leading on the missing toddler rather than the elections.

It was the same with the Lunchtime News, too. I was shocked that they didn't lead with the election. What could be more important? The missing toddler affects the family and a few friends on Merseyside. The election affects every single human being living in the UK. Editorially, how on earth did they get away with not leading with the election? As far as I'm concerned, ITV News has lost all credibility now.

It's a major human interest story, and I dare say more viewers of ITV News are interested in how that plays out than the election results.

Maybe ITV News are more in tune with their audience than you give them credit for.

It doesn't directly affect anybody living in London, which is quite a significant proportion of the population.

Makes a nice change then from most top stories which don't affect anyone north of Watford!

Ben Scotchbrook just presented both the national lunchtime summary and London Today a couple of minutes later.

He looks pretty worn out in the second image.

It is the same studio. They just changed the background image to the London skyline.

I very much doubt he had time to change studios. I would think it was all done from the same studio and utilising the staff more effectively (i.e. only need to staff one studio).

If it was the same studio, it was studio 4, the London studio - as there was a wideshot at the start of London Today.

That must mean they have the ability to project green behind him to key in the national background.
