Damn. I don't understand ITV's fascination with him. He's a terrible newsreader - awkward posture/stance, strange intonation and he's not the best in the world at ad-libbing.

Just like Trevor McDonald then!

On the evening news Tom Bradbys report on the Scottish elections had a graphic of the Scottish flag and the Union Jack when he was talking about the union, I noticed it and though it was a very stupid error! Pro-union anybody?! By the 10.30 they'd charged it to the Scottish flag and the English flag.

I thought it is the Union Flag, unless it's flying on a ship? Confused

What do you mean? The saltire is the national flag of Scotland...

That's not true. It's an urban legend.

It's not an urban legend either, it's simply a matter of debate and controversy.

But there ARE seperate English and Scottish flags which 'make up' the union jack. So showing an english flag next to a union flag didn't make sense. There is of course controversy over which Scotland should fly since it is currently a part of the union... but the illustration should have shown the flags of the two nations which made up the union. They obviously thought so too since they changed it for the 10.30!

No I was refering to the Union Flag/Jack (unless you're pulling leg here!).

Anyway, thanks for clearing that up Jrothwell97, I thought the supposed distinction might have been apocryphal.

Ahh sorry, I completely failed to pick up that you were referring to the Jack/flag terminology thing!

Oh right... was is the the main bone of contention regarding Union Jack/Flag? It's just that I've always been led to believe the naval explanation! Confused

I don't understand ITV's reverance for Geraint. There's just something so annoying about him but I can't put my finger on quite what it is.

I feel exactly the same way.

Why did they need to use him yesterday, couldn't Nina have done it, she was the main weekend anchor before her maternity leave.
