They're claiming it's the first push for ITV News in five years - but that simply isn't true.
There was a big promo campaign in 2004 when the 10.30pm bulletin launched, and I'm sure a minor one followed around Mark Austin taking over - while I'm sure this latest campaign is just a new take on ones that have been done in the last few years.
I Still prefer the BBC one though about news correspondents based all over the world. Also at one point on of the planes in the background looked like Thunderbird 2 lol
I don't think ITV got a mention on last nights ITV news, the only clue the Tonight show was on ITV was the caption on the press preview copy of the interview, as ITN I guess had no copy of the full broadcast interview. Very humble by ITV's standards, as has been said they did not lead on it and introduced the story by saying the MOD had reviewed its policy, very impressive journalism! Whats going on!?
What do others think of the 'breaking news' section of Itv news at 6:30 which almost occurs every nigt now. I like it a lot i guess it sort of a way of making up for the loss of the news channel.

Generally it seems to be Breaking News as in the news broke a while ago and now we've got a reporter on the scene, we'll call it breaking news!
Having said that though - it's well done, and at least it's genuine breaking news - not like most of Sky's stuff. However, without the option for viewers to turn over to the ITV News Channel for more, it seems a little pointless.
