I found it highly amusing that yesterday the top story on BBC News was that the soldiers were allowed to sell their stories to the media.
On ITV news it was much nearer the end of the programme and mentioned that ITV had spent a six figure sum to obtain one of the interviews.
I wonder if the stories would've been in different places in the bulletins if the BBC had won the bidding war?

Really? ITV News did not start their bulletin as ''Hostages speak exclusively to ITV News.'' That really does surprise me.

They haven't but the ITV1 continuity announcer has just plugged Tonight with "...now more on the ITV News". Geraint has just referenced the show in his opening and also at the start of the reporter's report.

I wonder how much they did pay Faye to talk. Six figures is anywhere between 100,000 to 999,999.

I feel sorry for the reports who work on Tonight w/ Trevor Macdonald. They do all the hard work week in week out while they wheel Sir Trev in to say a few lines at the top and bottom.
Then a big exclusive interview comes in, and Sir Trev gets to do the interview.

That video promo for ITV News reminds me of the CNN International promos - still good though.

165,000 is the rumoured sum for Faye's interview
I did find it od that ITV pushed the story to the rear end of the bulletin when they paid that much to get it
Silly ITV
