I was just going to say!
I think it was much better with a single presenter, the flow of the programme is much smoother. I wonder if it was just Romilly today by herself with it being Good Friday (but it's a normal half hour programme, unlike the Evening and Nightly programmes) or because their wasn't an availible male cover. I think it should be a single presenter anyhow - because Katie Derham is great alone.
Yes it was rather strange how the lunchtime news was its normal half-hour, yet the other programmes were just fifteen minutes. Also, Good Friday's Lunchtime News featured the regular panning of the camera into the studio, which is rare for weekend/bank holiday/festive season bulletins. I do find Romilly rather dull, though, yet she is a good newsreader.
Id guess the reason the ITV Lunchtime News was a full half hour on Good Friday was because ITV1 were following a normal weekday schedule (with one or 2 differences e.g. no This Morning) and showing less than half an hour would have messed up the flow of programmes. i.e the next programme would have started at 1.45pm had they had a 15 minute news bulletin. Was there a regional bulletin included in the programme? I know there wasnt during the late news even though some tv guides listed the late bulletin as including regional news.
As for why there was a single presenter - well on weekends/Bank Holidays they only use one presenter on all bulletins.
Romilly is ok. I hope she remains presenting bulletins if/when Nina returns.

On Monday the ITV TV Guide is listing that the Lunchtime News is on at 13:30 as normal then North East News at 13:45 weird listings.. Could it be that they are making up for the lost time for the regional news. Example, today the regions only had a 5minute programme, instead of a 15minute programme.

Could be, afterall there is supposed to be so many minutes per week of regional news. Not sure how that works on a Bank Holiday week though but i guess its an average across the year (same as non news regional programmes).

I think you are reading too much into it. If the news wasn't half an hour in total then the whole afternoon would be out with programmes starting at ten to the hour

Well, that's what used to happen on Bank Holidays. Never thought it would get to the stage where I'd be crying out for a Bond film!
I know Regional news takes a couple of days off over Christmas, but IIRC I'm sure last year they ditched it on Easter Sunday at least too.

It was worse than that, they passed off the half time scores for all teams as the football results, what a shambles !!

Romily was awful on the Saturday news, stating in one breath that Cambridge had won the boat race, and then in the next that Oxford had one.
Similarly, the researchers didn't do their job as they claimed that Reading drew 1-1 with Liverpool today.
Not a good day at the office for her.

Im not sure that is right. Im sure they had regional bulletins on Easter Sunday last year? IIRC its only Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day when they dont have ITV regional news.
