Yeah, I don't think it'd be viable to have a Moscow correspondent. Channel 4 News' new Foreign Affairs correspondent Nick Paton Walsh is the Guardian's former Moscow correspondent so I guess they have that 'expertise' to call on if needed. Also I've noticed C4 have used their economics correspondent to cover Russia stories lately seen as many are economics related. A seperate post isn't necessary IMO.
So it's another week of ''Action Mark'' and his five days of self-promotion (think back to ITV News' ridiculous '''special'' on climate change where they shipped him off to the South Pole or wherever, noone really cares by now anyway what ITV feature).

Well, you obviously too considering you've looked in an ITV News thread to find out!

Who remembers Mark Austin in his days as sports correspondent on BBC News? The only time we ever got to see him was on a Bank Holiday, or else every second Saturday night, where he would present the sports segment during the late news on BBC1, alongside Jan Leeming or Moira Stuart.
He shared the honours with Michael Blakey, who did every other Saturday too.
Mark has come a long way since then! I still don't see him being as "impacting" however, as Sir Trevor McDonald or even his predecessor, Sir Alistair Burnet, as ITN's biggest weapon. I cannot imagine "News at Ten with Sir Mark Austin" ever being announced on ITV.
In the same way that I find Huw Edwards to be lacking in the same sort of oomph that gave Sir Robin Day and Sue Lawley their place as BBC News' gladiators during their eras. Today's candidates all seem a bit "wet" by comparison.
There's just something about Mark I don't like
Can't quite work out what
Me neither. Ive never liked him that much. I remember when he was a presenter on that Survivor programme and IMO he was dreadful. They replaced him for the 2nd (and final) series.
