God, she has been working hard lately.
I think she is a better newsreader without Mark to be honest - though their partnership has worked well, now Mark is officially the more senior presenter it sometimes feels they are working against each other than with each other on the Evening News (if that makes sense).
Somehow Mary comes across as a much more authoritive newsreader when she isn't in the shadow of Mark.

Its been nice to see Mary presenting on the ITV News at 10.30 this week. I think she suits presenting this bulletin.

Mary was excellent on the Nightly News, the two programmes of it she presented of it this week. Agreeing with posts above that she is better alone, I think the same for Katie.
Mary did all last week's Evening News also, with Geraint / Steve. I think Mary is much better on the 10.30 than Mark, but I wouldn't want her to permanently do the 10:30 programmes.

Unfortunately. I really do not like Geraint as a presenter. He was fine as a reporter but his presenting style really irritates me. It is a mixture of his intonation and his body language. They way he sways around makes me feel sick.

Ditto Luke and itsrobert. It is extremely irritating. I think it's because of his imitation of Mark Austin, who, to be fair, is not somebody any newsreader should want to copy. Mark's mannerisms don't always make him come across as a professional, although I do like HIS presentation style, NOT Geraint's. He sways his body around and always looks as if he's about to pop out of his jacket. I just wish he could have his own style. Bill Nealy is good at this; he's quite unique.

I'd like to pick a bone with ITV News, although not intentionally because I have noticed, due to lack of ITV money ITN get, correspondent postings[i.e. Diplomatic, Defence, Education, Court, South of England, Scotland, Ireland and Home Affairs etc.] are dwindling.
I know "these things cost money", but I believe it could be done inexpensively, because a Home Affairs Correspondent could be done by a general affairs reporter and the same applies for Diplomatic, Education, South of England and Defence Correspondents.
ITV News used to have Scotland and Ireland Correspondents now they don't, which is a shame, seeing as Sky and the BBC have them.
There could be the argument that the UK Editor does the work of Home Affairs Correspondent, but I think it would look slightly impressive if there were more specialist correspondents.
Alternatively, if ITN could afford it, it would be nice to see the reinstatement of a Moscow Correspondent.
What are your views on this?

I think that's just a reflection of the changing centres of power/influence/news in the world.
That's why ITV and C4 have opened a Beijing bureau which they didn't used to have.
Russia is still important but Moscow doesn't have quite the place in international politics that it used to.
