Are u sure thats not the second set they used during the days of ITV News Channel
Its the current ITV set, the old ITV News Channel set was basically a green screen, without a walkway and a slightly smaller desk.

Although I like the atrium, I think they really do need a new set, but If there was a new set, they should keep the atrium. I't looks realistic, but the graphics going on the background makes it look very fake.

I agree about them needing a new set, I also think they should keep the atrium, but don't have things animating on it, as I agree it looks fake, and they shouldn't have a colour over it, e.g. the current colour blue makes the studio a bit depressing - so they should just have the atrium as it is.

He is talking about the ITV News Channel purely virtual one, used when the network were rehearsing.

If I recall the "walkway" in the old set was nothing more than a green box used when required, why when standing there they didn't prance about the walkway as they often did at other times when in the main set.

again, you keep referring to this 'old set'. The news channel used the current, main ITV set, with an alternative virtual studio. This studio is still used periodically i believe.

Anyone got an online link to the spoof ITN Alastair Stewart sketch that was played out on BBC2's Dead Ringers last week?

BBC Prime never shows Dead Ringers overseas - I read that their take on Alastair and the ITN "Theatre of News" was hilarious. I am dying to see it.

Yey! Smile
Was quite funny, but only the way they marched around the stage. They got Al's voice just right. I thought the Sian Lloyd was funnier.

She's definitely better than Lucy Owen.

I loved the way she said "Thanks Alastair, we'll all be tuning in" after the MOTS trail. I rarely burst out laughing during the news but she couldn't've sounded less convincing!

I'm guessing Lucy must have been axed from the ITV1 team as she hasn't been on air for weeks now, with Romily Weakes seemingly the main choice as female stand-in, with Daisy and others covering the weekend shift and even Mary Nightingale turning up for about six Friday's in a row!
