Agree - fairly good - just ever so slightly scary eyes.

For me, that is quite enough choice of news. In fact, I think it is quite possible to argue that there's too much choice.

Lunchtime is just as bad.

Gee, Robot, I hear that the North Koreans, Cubans, Iranians and Saudis have some vacancies for a press officer.

Looks like you've got what it takes.

Tom, if you actually understood what I was saying, my point was that there is quite enough choice of news programmes already during prime time and that we don't need any more. Where in my post did I say that we should only have one news programme like your North Korean et al analogy suggests?

Oh, and while I'm at it, do you ever make a valuable contribution to TV Forum these days? Whenever you pop up it seems to be either to make a negative comment about a broadcaster or attack a member.

What are you talking about? I always made negative comments and attacked people when I posted on here regularly.

I very infrequently contribute/read here now, because it is teeming with even more idiots than it used to be. Just look at the Sky News thread and the idiocy that surrounded the Wikipedia article. It's all so predictable -- News 24 relaunch their graphics and you know what the comments will be "I really like it, it's so fresh and original, well done BBC" and then "It looks a lot like Sky News to me" and then "I wonder when we'll see a breaking news graphic".

Dum de dum de doo.

Very occasionally there's something interesting that happens on here, and I still find it fun to dip in occasionally, but I think after about 6 years of the thing it is hard not to be just a little cynical. Lord, Wikipedia wasn't even around to be speculated on when I first signed up. How times change.

Did her big break really warrant mentioning on a regional programme 9I'm assuming she mentioned it herself?).

Her co-presenter Steve Clamp mentioned it to embarrass her, she didn't to expect him to mention it by the looks of things Laughing

I missed Sameena Ali-Foghorn's (sic Wink ) performance sadly, so thanks for the filling me in! Cool I think she's OK on Central News East , but she's not exactly the female equivalent of Bob Warman I feel!

I wonder why the presenters of the ITV Morning News never get a chance to do the weekend news at a time like this?

Chris Rogers, Rachel McTavish, Phil Gayle (Busy tonight I know), rather than getting a presenter in from the regions

I think that Chris Rogers deserves a weekend slot also, as he is an excellent presenter.
As for Rachel McTavish, I haven't saw her in a while. I have never saw Phil Gayle present the news before! But have seen him on Dancing on Ice .

So you've never seen Phil Gayle on ITV News , the ITV News Channel , Channel 4 News and Big Breakfast news, but you caught him on Dancing On Ice ?

Even though I knew Phil Gayle from all those programmes I didn't recognise him instantly! His features have totally changed and I never realised how tall he was.

AH well it's Kay Burley's time to leave next week!

Chris Rogers presents the ITV London news during the week though doesnt he (at lunchtimes) so may not have time to do the weekends also.

I tuned in for the programme at 13:00 with the Central presenter presenting. And she was an awful presenter, from what I saw and heard in that bulliten.

She did alright for her first time presenting on the network. I think it's tougher now for the newer presenters as they don't have the ITVNC anymore as a practice ground to get in the necessary experience.

I noticed Sameena was addressing the reporters by name but none of them attempted to say her name when they answered her. It's a little courtesy they might have tried to do.

I noticed that. It happened a lot with Lucy Owen when she was new. Perhaps the reporters dont know who she is as she is new to the national news.

From what I have gathered, there is a pecking order and if the presenter is not as experienced or simply filling in, the reporters might not respect them as much, so may completely ignore the presenter. I know Libby Weiner does this a lot. Here is an example.
Lucy Owen: So Libby, it has been an eventful day at Downing Street?
Libby Weiner: Today has seen Tony Blair under increasing stress....etc....
