It's ridiculous the way ITV News continually bombard us with Global Warming alarmism. I mean, we had Lawrence McGinty going around the world for the whole of last year, do we really need it again?

I agree with you, Jonathan. I do prefer to watch ITV News when I can, but I am sick of the alarmist attitude they have. I wish they would just report what's happen ed around the world each day, rather than reporting on what is going to be happen ing .

Agreeing with the two posts above.

They should be focusing on the days latest news. Instead of what could be happening, what's wrong with reporting it when it happens? They're reporting the news not telling us what's coming up.

Isn't it just like Sky's Green Britain week, most people thought that was a good idea...

and ITV News thought 'Oh look people like that why don't we do that, pull some viewers in' sorry for having ago on this but it really needs to be said.

At least the white ITV News logo on the left hand top corner looked nice Very Happy (during Mark presenting).

ITV were doing stuff on climate change way before Sky, as Jonathan says, they sent Laurence McGinty around the world (on a jolly?) doing reports last year.

Oh, please. ITV News have been doing branded strands for years, just like everyone else. There was major environmental strand last year, mentioned above in this thread!

Well, whatever your opinion Brekkie, we don't need the afflictions of Mark Austin and Lawrence McGinty on Global Warming thrown at us every day.

True, although I find the way ITV report the link between global warming and human activity as absolute fact is very misleading-- when the link has not actually been solidly proven! I note that ITV News has often neglected to mention the evidence against this link-- but that would get in the way of an alarmist story wouldn't it? Laughing

This debate is probably not for this forum, but the link between global warming and human activity is very solidly proven. I've read that many of the research companies and scientific think-tanks that dispute this have a measure of sponsorship from oil companies somewhere in their financial affairs. Whether that's true or simply propaganda I don't know. But look at it this way. We can debate the emphasis news programmes place on environmental issues. But whether global warming is caused by human activity or not, the planet is without doubt heating up, and the consequences of that for human habitation are already happening . Whether you like it or not, that is newsworthy.
