From the Mail on Sunday:

ITV will not put its £36m contract with ITN out to tender, despite achieving major savings from a bruisingly competitive tender process between the news provider and BSkyB.

ITV is now in talks with ITN to renew its contract, which started in 2003 and finishes at the end of next year.
The broadcaster claims that restructuring its news operations has saved more in costs than it could hope to get if it were to put the business out to tender as it has done in the past.

An ITV spokesman said: 'We have worked for three years to fully align our regional and national news operations.

'The synergies, cost savings and economies of scale we have achieved as a result more than offset savings we might get through a tender process.'

The ITV Morning News on Saturday, I only saw about five minutes but I don't remember the name, she wasn't bad mind you, makes a change from Phil Gayle whenever I put it on.

Rachel McTavish presented the London late bulletin on Friday, so you'd have expected her to present Saturday's Morning News.

ITV News just changed its Live dog for The Big Melt, the logo changed to white instead of it being green. It looked much nicer

is this live though? There's no LIVE anywhere on screen.

As they mentioned it was a world first 3 times in the space of a minute you would have thought they would have live slapped across the screen!

It's ridiculous the way ITV News continually bombard us with Global Warming alarmism. I mean, we had Lawrence McGinty going around the world for the whole of last year, do we really need it again?
