Quit the arse-licking, you won't become a Mod, because they hate you.
IMO Geraint is extremely bland and copies Mark, especially in his delivery style. He's a pretty-boy and I don't agree with what you say about him being 'Number Two'' because surely good-old-odious Alastair Stewart is ''Number Two'' in ITV's books?

Quit the arse-licking ,
Erm No. I am not 'arse-licking' I am simply agreeing - as that is what I basically said before. It also sounds like he is calling me 'patronising' so I hope he ment the other two members who were posting.

I much prefer Geraint to Mark. I also agree that Geraint is a pretty boy - I like having something nice to look at when watching the news
Saying that, he has improved so much recently and putting aside his good looks, he is a good presenter.
I also dont think he is 2nd male presenter after Mark - Alistair and James Mates are before him.

I agree with Jez, Geraint has improved his style over recent months and appears much more relaxed.
I would prefer to see him reading a bulletin anyday than James Mates who I thnk is as dull as dishwater.

I dont mind James - at least he will smile when welcoming us back or saying goodbye. I find Mark far too stern - like a school headteacher!

How do you think James Mates or Mark Austin compare with Alistair Stewart? I think AS is very authoritative, but shows he has GSOH for the lighter stories, much the same as Nicholas Owen in that respect.
I also agree that Geraint Vincent seems to have settled into presenting more. Especially compared with a few months ago, when he initally seemed to be "on edge" all the time-- he looked as though he was shaking like a flatpack wardrobe
Now he looks more used to the role

I think Alistair Stewart is underused on national bulletins - shame to see such talent relegated to the 'entertainment mag' London Tonight.
For me Mark, Alistair and Geraint for news anchor - James Mates is a turn off I'm afraid.

James Mates does seem a bit dour at times, I have to say. I feel it is more welcoming when a newscaster opens and closes a bulletin with smile, better "customer service" as it were!
