Nice to see Mary presenting the 10.30pm for a change tonight.

I'd have thought she'd be off on her Christmas hols by now!

And nice to see Nick on the Lunchtime News. It's going to be sad without him, I always associate him with the Lunchtime News, it was always really his bulletin.

I managed to actually catch the Lunchtime News today - it will be strange when Nick leaves. However their was a few problems at the start of the programme.. just a slight cock-up. Finished the regions headlines - then the two reporters faces (who were coming up next) with the music still going. Then onto a black screen - still with music.. then a slow zoom in to Nick and Katie in the studio.

Watching the Lunchtime News again and the closing shot of the studio before the break was brilliant. The camera speeded round the studio and stopped at the left, showing off behind the scenes. A bit like the last day of the News Channel. Is today Nick's last day, is their anymore news on this - sorry if the question i've asked has already been answered.

Great ending to the Lunchtime News aswell, the camera moved from the newswall to the left, so you seen the desk from the side, and Katie and Nick walking up to it. You seen the cameras,screens etc.
Maybe this is a return to the good old endings!

I always remember as a younger child about 3 or 4 (wow!), that my dad used to have his lunch break from work and come home to watch the ITV Lunchtime News and it was always had John Suchet as the presenter!

Name used to stick in my head ! "Hello I'm John Suchet"

John Suchet was a great presenter for ITV News a shame Five News have got him now.

Annoying on the report about the "Virgin Dragon" that though the story is about an animal at Chester Zoo, the report was done from London Zoo!

They forgot the bongs on tonight's News at 10.30 - not right at all!

I noticed that. there were a few mistakes in the opening few minutes. I think its because they done the openers live.

Also, the cont. announcer said James Mates and Mary Nightingale was presenting tonight's news - I didn't see Mary.

I noticed there weren't any graphics on screen in the first 10 minutes or so either.

On the Evening News, Mary also said that she would be back with James at 10.30.
