Yes i noticed that and the news was scheduled for 5:55am

Just looking at the Radio Times for 16-22 December, I see a Morning News scheduled for Monday 19th December, but for the rest of the week it's replaced by half an hour of CITV.
Is this just for Christmas or is it a sign of something more permanent?

Been the case most years, though they are starting a bit early really considering most people don't finish till the 22nd.
Are ITV obligated to provide a full bulletin in the mornings then (either specifically or as part of their daily quota) - considering the GMTV Newshour follows straight after it's a wonder they still bother.
After all, it's an extra half hour they could be getting money from callers to The Mint!

I was under the impression that the Morning News was a knd of freebie from ITN for providing all the other bulletins...
They may as well get rid of it, and the overnight updates, it's not as if they have updates any other time of day.

Everytime I watch the Morning News, it's usually a repeat of the 10:30, it's nothing spectacular. I think it's still there as the IBA told ITV to have a News in the Night Time schedule, and it must still apply.
Considering the fact there's only one update most nights, do they still say "That's it, more News later"?

Well tonights evening news was really boring and un-interesting. The guest you couldn't even make out what she was saying. The caller man couldn't hear Grunt in the studio and their was long silences. He then hung up and Grunt said that they were having problems!
The pictures (played over headline summaries) were staying on screen when Grunt had finished speaking. The ending just looked strange!

Firstly, stop calling him Grunt!!!
Secondly, it's hardly ITV News' fault that there was problems with the phone call.
Finally, it wasn't boring. It was informative.

Last time I saw it,from 5.50 they repeatedthe top stories again.

There must be more in it than just a repeat of the stories from the 10.30 because it's on for 10 minutes longer
There were a few lives last time I saw it, and there's usually a brief look at the papers (using actual papers on the desk)

I thought that Joyce O'Haja and Phil Gayles presented this bulletin. Therefore it couldnot be a repeat.

Geraint did have a few problems presenting the news tonight. Quite a bit of hesitation and pauses.
