With the itv News Channel closing what will happen with the news presenters they had?

What happens when the likes of Andrea Catherwood and Katie Derham come back from mat leave?

They can't keep Lucy Alexander just to present London Today for 10 minutes. Andrea Catherwood usually covers for Mary Nighingale and Katie Derham, so they can't keep Leyla Daybelge. James Mates and Bill Neely normaly cover for Nick Owen and Mark Austin, so why do they need Steve Scott.

I think they will keep Nina Hossain, dont know why but I think they will and Felicity Barr will stay to present the sport on the new nightly news

And the others, Andrew Harvey, Owen Thomas, Chris Rogers, Joyce Ohaja!

well if they have bulletins on there over channels they can keep some staff on

I can see your point, yet I strongly disagree about Nina!

The same concerns could be valid for your local ITV station.

I agree, if you watch Scottish. Anyone will be able to tell you they don't need the likes of Louise White, Nick Dixon, Beack Hunter and Stephen Jardin!

You get my vote with that statement!

You could also get rid of half of North Tonight!

With regards itv News, I would like to see Leyla Daybelge go back to Sky News.

No meaning to be rude but it's been discussed heavily already, many times. As an answer, noone really knows what will happen to Nina. Andrea is weekend news presenter and Katie is the lunchtime news presenter and LT. I feel Leyla may lose out in this one, she doesn't come across as a particularly strong presenter.

Today will see a press launch of all the identities for the new ITV Channels. Not sure how much will be shown, but expect to see at least the final logos on here later. In response to your direct question, Yes News' new look will launch at 05:30 on Monday 16th Jan along with the new idents and overall brand for all ITV Channels. The new look was also completed for the News Channel, before its closure.

No details on the changes to news presentation in the MG article - they just say that the ITV News and Regional News will be rebranded along with ITV1,2 and 3.

Yep, it appears the media are just showing the channel brands. Thought they might have shown the News Channel, but...oh....erm... Laughing

I expect there is a whole batch of graphics specifically designed for the news channel that we'll now never see!

Was today's Lunchtime News from the main studio or second studio. While they did have some wide standing up shots and the standard 3 square desk shot, there were quite a few close up shots with just one presenter and the cube background. The 12noon summary looked slightly different too.

Looks like the main studio to me (the lighting grid is always a giveaway, and the newswall reflection on the desktop) - but they seemed to be avoiding shots of the ends of the newswall.
