Looks good... slight change to the opening of the 10.30 news, we get Mark in-vision at the start of the first headline where it used to be a VT.
Am loving the studio, it looks fresh again, the teal looked a bit stale. All those complaints of the studio not matching the titles and graphics... well let me remind you that that's how BBC News usually do it who can forget the beige titles for a few months after leaving the beige studio?
They just need to recolour the graphics and it'd look fine. In fact, I'd say redesign them, I ain't keen. They need simplifying.
I agree. I don't like the people that walk across Big Ben at the beginning. The straps should be blue I think.
I like it a lot - moving back almost to the blue and yellow squares era
The black and yellow aston/straps at the beginning are good, but its a shame all of the other graphics are still the old ones - it looks a bit to mish mash.
Also the blue makes the newsreader stand out more and is more contrasting which looks much better.

Just thinking though, then they'd have to change all the regions graphics again and I doubt that will happen
I don't have any previous examples, but I'm sure the graphics don't always have to match the colour of the studio

You're right, they don't
have
to match. It's just that it doesn't seem to look quite right as it is now.

I love the new set. Did you notice how there is a clock face going around the edge of the studio floor? You saw it as Mark was going through tomorrow's front pages.
i'm going to have to disagree with the general consensus: i don't like the changes at all - the background now looks like a CGI cartoon (especially with the glowing orange pillars) and you can't get away with the fact that it jars with the titles and graphics. The fact that 'the BBC do it,' doesn't make the changes any less unnecessary.
I do think that each time they revamp this studio it gets worse.
I think regardless of the graphics, the very square atrium backdrop doesn't fit neatly with the circular studio - they need to swap with the BBC (and then it would look like C4's I guess!)
Also, I said this in January but they still haven't got the headline bed in synch with the regions. While it's always been the case with the BBC, pre-January the regional headlines had always been pretty seemless as far as I'd seen - but now they stick out like a sore thumb!
Not seen any bulletins in full so were there any "Briefings" tonight from the virtual studio (usually with the clock face forming the studio floor) - and if so, were there any changes?
( And as I said before, that on it's own would make a better studio! )
And finally, though now without the news channel it's not as needed as it once, but a few physical changes to the current studio would make a huge difference.
Basically I'd turn the desk 45 degrees so one half of the "theatre of news" acts as the backdrop to the desk, with the other half (seperated by a column) acting as the newswall - and then perhaps some kind of podium at the other end of the studio just to offer an extra presentation point.
I just think that the teal was that bit nicer, and a way to distance from the past and into the future, thus I don't understand going back to blue & yellow. Very odd. I've always thought that it would look better say if a camera was off one of the balconeys looking into a newsroom on the other side.
