My guess is Shiulie or Steve. I wonder when we'll see Lucy Owen on ITV1 again.
Lucy Owen hasnt presented the Wales Tonight this week, well not the nights ive watched she hasnt anyway, so maybe she will present the ITV News in the near future?

You mean so we caan be familiar with him? Also, I don't like the idea of Steve on the evening news too much, I find him boring and smug.

thats a good idea mark to take it up five days a week, then it could make room for steve scott to present the itv evening news. But ITV want Mark Austin on Both so they can be familiar with him

God - why all this fuss about Mark having Friday off?
Trevor never did more than 3 days a week, and anyone who missed the bulletins on the day he left probably hasn't realised he's gone as he generally finishes a week or so before Christmas and doesn't return till mid-January.
Most listing mags still brand the Friday night edition as the Weekend News anyway!
Just be grateful we're not in America - "The ITV Nightly News at Ten Thirty with Mark Austin - presented tonight by somebody else!"

The advert that stated he would be presenting it "Weeknights at 10.30".
Nothing new here - the ads for things like the relaunch in 2004 and 1999 stated Trevor McDonald be presenting Weeknights, as have ads for Kirsty Young on Five News and the team on BBC1.
God - will the forum cope if Mark Austin happens to pop up at the Weekend some time!

Mark has a long way to go before being like Trevor. Mr McDonald has done many Monday through to Fridays in his time. In Mark's defence though, he does many on-scene live broadcasts (New Orleans and Iraq to name a few).
I agree with him giving up the Evening/6:30 to someone else, and for him to concentrate on the Nightly/10:30. I have never seen any two network bulletins headed by the same person before this. Why not have Mary and Nina on at 6:30. Never mind this "you always have a man and a woman" It is time to break the trend methinks!

What!!!???
What difference does it make if its two men, two women, or one of each presenting together? Frankly, if they are capable of bringing us the news in a proper way I really don't think it matters.
I do agree that Alastair should be presenting the 10.30pm programme though.

It would be a good idea to have Mary or Nina together on the EN. I don't think that's likely to happen though. Nina and Alastair would be a good combination on the EN too.
