Has "ITN" ever had so many "regional" newsreaders regularly hosting the national bulletins before?

At the moment technically we've got at least four in Alistair Stewart, Katie Derham, Steve Scott and Lucy Owen, all of whom are arguably primarily regional news hosts.

I would argue that Katie Derham is the permanent reader of the 1.30 and is therefore not primarily a regional presenter, and with Steve Scott, who I believe has only recently joined HTV West.

Alistair did the national news for years though, and Katie has also been on the ITV National News since the mid 1990s - hardly regional presenters. They only do London Tonight because its made by ITN and comes from the same building.

Well she also did the lunchtime news, not sure if she's done that before.

Jonathan Hill again handed back to "our very own" Lucy at the end. Wonder how quickly that changes when she leaves for good.

Why does she always wear black?

The announcer didn't introduce the presenters by name either, which is quite lazy.

She did the lunchtime and evening news one Friday a few weeks back. I expected she would as she wasnt on HTV Wales yesterday.

Is she leaving for good?

Oh well I don't know I'm just guessing -- it's surely bound to happen at some point.

Perhaps I should learn how to read bumps?

PS. Must the 5 bottles of vegetable oil story be on both national and local news for both channels today, it's very silly.

Best not to raise questions like that on here - last time around it resulted in the deaths of most senior royal and political figures in the country! Laughing
