Katie Derham is joining Mark on the Evening News tonight.

Yup and once again Katie's annoying me. What was wrong with Mary [taking the day off AGAIN] and Nina?

I guess you prefer a more detached style and are not a fan of the fact that Katie, obviously a naturally expressive person, likes to follow what her co-presenter is saying/reading.

Personally I find Katie totally engaging and am always happy to see that she is presenting the programme.

Mary will be back on the EN on Thursday
(Nina may be on holiday or maternity leave).

I dont mind Katie, I just prefer Nina or Mary.

Yes ive tried several times to watch Katie on the news but I just cant take to her. I much prefer Nina.

I appear to be immune to Nina's charms
(and no, it's not a sexual preference issue).

According to the Radio Times, she's presenting all this week and next.

If Nina is off on maternity they really should cut the new lunchtime news down to one presenter with Nick and Katie alternating, and then Katie filling in for Mary on the Evening News.

I don't have next week's Radio Times but my copy of this week's has Katie on Tuesday and Wednesday, Mary on Monday and Thursday and doesn't specify who will be presenting on Friday.
They must have updated their information between print runs, (we'll have to wait until Thursday to see which was more up-to-date ).

talking of Nicholas Owen, where is he? Whenever i've tuned in it's been Alastair Stewart on the lunchtime news. I hope i'm wrong but it looks like he's being edged out.
