Today's Morning News is fastly becoming a shambles.

One report failed and we had a scramble of picture for around a minute, the programme then contiued in silence, presenter seemingly unaware and reports airing without sound and picture failing frequently.

EDIT: Mid way through we get a 'Programme continues in vision only' caption at the bottom of the screen, followed by a crackling and jumping ITV 1 slide then back to the the news with sound .

This was due to a power failure at the South Bank Network Centre.

apparently, Nicholas Owen is to take part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

Does anyone else think that the ITN endcap is really awful? Safe areas are out watching in 4:3.

They are out in 16:9 too - but I beleive that's by design.

And Andrea Catherwood couldn't do The X Factor, though she does say it was her decision, as she can't sing.

That'll be fun for him. He should look very nice in a Tuxedo .

Anybody from BBC news trying their luck on the dancefloor this year ?

You would have thought they would have tried to improve the atrium by now, for instance sorting out the "other floors" images, and maybe improving the very fake safety bar outside the windows?

Why they couldn't add another level at the top and bottom, I dont' know as you can regulary see the black on the bottom.

Also for the overhead shot, couldn't they superimpose a newsroom image for that camera, so they could use it again, without it looking so fake?

Or someway of making the newsroom windows darker when the camera is very high, so you don't see the incorrect perspectives so much?

They also need to swap the thing above the newsroom around on the right side as it goes the wrong way.
