I liked the way the Evening News began tonight: Nina saying ''Stupid, stupid, stupid.'' at a picture of Gordon Brown. Very Happy

Yes, though it sounded more like 'Shtoopid, shtoopid, shtoopid'. Bless.

Who did the lunchtime news today? Was it Katie or did Nina stand in for her (I ask this as I noticed Katie didnt do London Tonight)

Nina Hossain normally presents the Lunchtime News on Fridays.

She's not the only one with an impediment. How rude!

I thought today's LN was aboslute dire. Alistair tried to be serious, yet Katie seemed on a different planet, with her nodding head. Appalling use of their Theatre of News, I quickly changed over to Sky.

Feels like they have given up on it.

That "green" colour in the studio is terrible. Does not go good with graphics.

She had no autocue, which is why she was constantly looking at scripts.

ITV need to learn the meaning of impartiality.

"Will WE ever win the War on Terror?"

a) 'We' implies that everyone agrees with this
b) Adopting the phrase infers that you believe there is a war on terror. A lot of people don't agree with this.

ITV are constantly more interesting presentation-wise than the BBC, but I wish they wouldn't be so Brass Eye at times.

The ongoing unrest in the Middl East is generally referred to in the media as the 'War on Terror'. As for the 'we', well, whether you agree with it or not, the British government entered the whole nation into this 'war', so as a whole we are involved.

Short, undetailed response...tired...

No, you're wrong. The "War on Terror" is something the US government came up with... it was "adopted" for a while, but it became apparent very quickly that it wasn't appropriate for the above reasons by most news organisations. ITN were quite wrong to use it in such a general context... Better to have said "Will Geroge Bush ever win his War on Terror..." or "Will we ever see the so-called War on Terror won...?" You'll also find most government ministers... not sure about Tony... not refering to Britain as being in the forefront of the "War on Terror". Bad dog, ITN, very bad dog...
