Broadcast reports that Andrea Catherwood has left ITV News
Quote:
ITV News presenter Andrea Catherwood is to step down from presenting bulletins, after being signed up to present the broadcaster's new Sunday morning politics show with political commentator Andrew Rawnsley.

Catherwood, who presented ITV Weekend News, will no longer work for ITV News, following the deal to go and work on the new ITV Productions produced show, which starts this autumn. An ITV insider admitted she had broadcast her last bulletin for the network.

The programme named 'Sunday Edition' starts on Sunday 17th September at 11am

The first of ITV's brand new political and current affairs series hosted by Andrew Rawnsley and Andrea Catherwood featuring interviews with leading politicians and commentators about the big issues making the news at Westminster and beyond.

I wonder if ITV News will be staying on air past 14:00 to bring us Tony Blair's 'announcement' ?

It seems that there is a News Special on BBC2 at 13:30 today! Must surely be some big news?

Glad to hear that about Andrea- way too bland, smiled whilst announcing horrific details of a war and generally boring. It'll be good to see her do a talkshow style program though - maybe there is a personality underneath...
Getting a bit bored of these reports from Chris Rogers. If you listen carefully to hgis voice, he sounds like a male version of Orla Guerin. Everything is doom and gloom, everyone is unhappy, must suck life from everything. Okay, so his child prisons thing was good as a one off, but how long are these going to continue? I remember just after the Phillipines scandal, he tried to do the same thing by exposing the bear trade in India, but it came out more comical than scandalous.

Do ITN have any involvement in this programme?

It's an ITV Productions production - but I guess that the programme will incorporate a news summary which will obviously be supplied by ITN.

i wonder why they chose Andrea? I don't think she has any background in political journalism does she?

I was at ITN yesterday and I saw some graphics being made up, with the word Sunday across them and I was trying to rattle my brains to think of what it was for, maybe this.

I liked the way the Evening News began tonight: Nina saying ''Stupid, stupid, stupid.'' at a picture of Gordon Brown. Very Happy

Who did the lunchtime news today? Was it Katie or did Nina stand in for her (I ask this as I noticed Katie didnt do London Tonight)
