Doh! I missed the news bulletin this morning. It used to be on at 10:55 but nothing appeared. I tuned back in at 11:20 and there was an advert break then This Morning.
Calendar had a new background this morning on the projector screen featuring their newsroom. Clearly this is designed to match the national atrium background.
Stupid time for the morning bulletin - it be better around 11.25am in the middle of This Morning. 11.10am is just too random!
And looks like Nick is off anyhow! I think if they cut back to one Nick and Katie could still do as many bulletins just alternating considering the time they each have off!
Haven't catched "Tyne Tees" yet but i'm not sure if a newsroom picture would look good for a background
I have to say it looked quite good on Calendar. It had that slightly bluey sheen so it looks like it was shot through glass. As I've already said in the Y&L thread, we only got to see the mid-shot of the presenter with the new background. Whether it works as well on the wide-shot, given I doubt they've invested in VR and so the perspective could be a bit wonky, remains to be seen.
Thinking about it, this is probably a Calendar-only thing. They've always been reluctant to have a view of Leeds behind them as they don't want to alienate viewers in other big cities, namely Bradford, Sheffield, etc.
I'd rather have Nina than Katie, I hate the way she nods her head during a story and the way she stands in the studio, looks lyk if she moved her legs anymore apart she'd do the splits She should just get on London Tonight & have Nina on the LN
They actually have updated the titles to show the 1.30pm clock!
Don't know how easy it is for them to do - I don't think they did it when the Evening News moved to 7pm for the World Cup, did they?
No, because that was only temporary! I found tonight's opening very smooth, especially the clockface on the studio floor. The new titles gave it a nice finish, I thought.
