The DVD loop that's fed into the backdrop must have ended. It's happened in the plain BBC Regions backdrops before, rewinding backgrounds on air.


I noticed on the Evening News a couple of nights ago behind Mary, someone walking through the virtual newsroom disappeared into thin air as the loop got to the end. They could have done with ending the loop when there wasn't any action going on.

I presume Red Bee would have already been well underway with creating new graphics for the News Channel at the time it was axed. It actually looks quite good - a shame it never got put to use as intended.

I don't like the 'LIVE' graphic for ITV News, especially how the location is squashed width-wise but never changed height-wise. For very long locations, it looks very silly.

I saw some of the ITV News special and I was quite impressed by the big name coverage. By the way does anybody else think that Nicholas Owen was getting a bit Dan Corbett-ed?? He was using alot of hand actions like Dan does

Watching the late ITV news last night. In the background a "Search Title" In a white font came up!

Meanwhile smashing coverage today - nice and stylish graphics. I wish we could also see these on the news channel. Good that they have decided to keep some normal programmes into schedule. Unlike the BBC, which i am finding quite boring with live and stalling coverage.

Well done ITV! Keep it up -

Just curious but who would give the kind of autthorisation needed for ITV to hand over ITV1's airtime to ITN for this kind of breaking news story? Would it simply be the most senior manager in ITV TX or would it have to go as far up as Simon Shaps?
