Carrie Frais is here on BBC World now, doing the Sports. She is quite good in fact.
Agree with most of you above - never understood the fascination with Katie Derham or Nina Hossain.
Nicholas Owen and Alastair Stewart are stars.

Pomposity personified. At least he's miles away
Hmmm. Has a wonderfully authoritative style, but always comes across as a nice chap in chattier moments - don't think he's actually pompous.
I know what you mean, but I think it's more a style than a personality trait.

Alastair Stewart has flown out to Beirut, he'll be presenting the 6:30 and 10:30pm news from there.

Tonight's 6.30 ITN endcap was quite alarming...a huge flash of orange light across the Beirut skyline shocked me...then came the 'ITN' logo.
Alastair-I find him pompous and because he gets little national airtime these days, he seems to make the most of what he does getg by taking on an alarmist tone and comes across as melodramatic.

Yes, he certainly can take on an alarmist tone at times which I feel he has put on, maybe he wouldn't be like that if he was presenting national bulletins a bit more.
