A few problems today...

The news summary went a bit wrong at 12. When Alistair said goodbye, there was a graphic, blackness, some text (can't remember what it said - 'WIPE' was one of the words) and finally at the very end a multiscreen interview graphic with 'Studio' above one and a location above the other came on and faded away to a promo.

And at the end of the lunchtime bulletin there was no music - just the bed.

Nina and Steve are awful together. They're incredibly wooden, especially tolnight when they messed up the 'goodbye' sequence, they stood there staring at the camera; usually Mark might have joked about something like that.

You find Nina wodden? Shocked
I find Mark incredibly wodden. He never cracks a smile until the last few seconds of the programme.
I was thinking something earlier, why the hell is Mark head anchor when someone like Nick Owen has been with ITV News for much, much longer?

Totally agree. Keep him on the 6:30 but for god's sake why have him take over the entire lot of ITV News!!!!

Who's on the Morning News this week?

Owen's also been on the Morning news regularly, hasn't he?

Whatever has happened to the likes of Sian Jones, Isha Sesay and Rachel McTavish? And where have all the ex-NC faces gone? I know some have gone to Sky, but the likes of Andrew Harvey, Leyla Daybelge and John Nicholson are nowhere to be seen!

They've all cleared off to places that pay much better money than ITV.
The pay, lack of meal allowance for reporters out on the road, and the dreadfull mileage allowance is hardly an attraction for many people, except for those that want to get into the business and glean a spot of experience. Sadly, the good ones move on very quickly.

I think someone like Alastair Stewart should anchor the Nightly News, and Nina should have a proper job on the ITV News as well. She is a great newsreader, better than Katie and Mary!

I totally agree. Nina should be the main presenter on the ITV Evening News

Why can't people understand that presenters do have a say in what they don't want to do. If Nick Owen doesn't want to do the six thirty, then he doesn't have to. If he was happy with his role, then fine!

I like Mark's seriousness - I feel there's too much fake-ness on some news bulletins so I like Mark, who just gets down to the news without any of the useless bullsh it that goes with it.

This used to happen quite often at one time - Nick Owen presenting today's Saturday lunchtime summary, but Andrea Catherwood is doing the rest of the day's bulletins.

But why? Because it's a long day? Nick came in only for the lunchtime summary? That's odd.

He was probably in rehersing for a major breaking news, event, like what takes place at ITN from time to time. The rehersals mostly take place at weekends, because they have longer access to the studios etc.

No Obit rehearsals today. Quiet as the grave. Don't know why Nick was only in for lunch unless Andrea had something on and he did it as a favour......
