They've been running that promo all day, every day throughout the week.

Unless of course you happen to watch during the hours 12am-7am, or has ITV redefined the number of hours in a day?

She did the lunchtime news today, and she is doing it tomorrow as well.

Hopefully we'll see a few more 2 presenters slots again soon - 1-4 seems to be just 1 at the moment - Nick Clark did Steve Scotts shift today - whats happened to Phil Gayle and Heather McCarthy?

They would probably argue it's night!

Heather was on the breakfast shift this morning with Andrew Harvey. They seemed to work well as a combination. I guess they presented together at South Today.

I agree that they need to maintain consistency re. double headed slots. Outside holiday periods they really ought to ensure that there are two presenters throughout the daytime and early evening - even if the usual presenter is unavailable/otherwise engaged.

I realise though that the way that the NC operates makes this difficult - because it has comparatively few dedicated presenters (ie ones without commitments to national bulletins, London Tonight etc) it only takes one presenter to be out of place (eg Steve Scott in Thailand or Felicity at the Olympics) to have knock-on effects across the schedule.

I wonder what's happening with Phil - as he has given up/lost his role as presenter of ITV London's The Week, which he combined with Sunday NC and London Tonight duties.

Indeed. The News Channel just hasn't been the same without Phil Gayle on every hour of every day of every week, has it?

Another one who I haven't seen on recently is Lucy Alexander. I presume she is freelance as she does seem to have the most time off of all the newsreaders.

So other than the obvious itv national news presenters can I assume that only the following are itn employees...

Rachel McTavish ( I assume she is as when the news channel had a presenters page in the previous era she was included with Andrew and Leyla)
Steve Scott (?) I wonder if he is freelance - as before the new look he wasn't actually on the news channel very much and was more of a weekend relief presenter

Tonight at 11:45 (and possibly at other times) the ITV News Channel promised us the answer to "did the IRA pull off Britains biggest bank robbery".

Of course, when the report came, it was inconclusive.

Can we have some less misleading headlines?

I think they work for ITV News ... certainly all the regional news journalists now work for ITV News rather than local companies - that's why regional presenters sometimes appear on the news channel.

Owen Thomas and Chris Rogers are co-presenting this hour and are having some fun. It was great to see which one of them decided to present the item on the pink pound/gay london.

Phil Gayle didn't lose his slot on ITV london or News channel he has left the UK to work in Australia for a year.
