I am sure that they have both been on in December. Of course, they are husband and wife.

Interesting Lunchtime News there, the whole programme was devoted to the Asia disaster, it was fifteen minute, but they didn't use the usual ITV Weekend News titles, but a strange set I've only ever see once before... the four square part with the ITV News Summary music over it, I whipped up a video a while back:

Yes, and the music started straight away, as opossed to the usual wait for the music, on the normal summary titles, starting just before the squares are in place.

Yes, I keep thinking the sound has gone on the Summary titles... then it suddenly comes on!

So, how was the ITV News Special last night? I missed it, on account of being asleep [I work nights], I know Mark Austin presented it. Who else was there?

I am suprised to hear if John Suchet wasn't there - after all, wasn't it agreed that John Suchet could come back to work for ITV News, only if there was a major story?

Have a look at the Asia Disaster thread for many positive comments on the programme.

Mark Austin presented. There were reports from Dan Rivers, John Irvine, Bill Neely, Laurence McGinty and Keir Simmons. Mark had a phone interview with Kofi Annan in New York.

At the end Mark was joined in person by Keir Simmons

One thing that hasn't been mentioned much here is how last night all ITV News reports were introduced with references to the cameramen. A good move IMO.

There's been various non standard openings over this festive period. Some using titles, some just with a wide shot, various lengths of sting etc
