I have to disagree with the lack of 'and finally' stories. They are still done on the Evening News, and some are quite amusing, although these stories are not that common. For example the other day with the story about the office Christmas party being dangerous.

Yes, that is good. Damon Green getting slapped, Damon looking bored with a few people behind him, dancing on a table....those are one of the the stories which made ITN/ITV News [?] watchable.
Even Angela Rippon liked it so much, she asked for the report to be played again on Live with Angela Rippon .

I posted this many a time in the Central and Midlands thread...

Well that's not our fault...

Anyway, you've just got to love Owen...started reading a story but then obviously told that the report wasn't ready so he moved on...and Phil Gayle and Owen went on to say what was coming up after the break. After they had finished we were left with about 3 seconds of them...so Owen waved at the screen and said "Byeeeee..." - just as the sting cut in you heard Phil Gayle erupt with laughter.

Cheers you up on a sleepy Sunday certainly...

Any idea which presenters will be presenting over christmas...? I'm sure last year it was Heather, Andrew and Chris. I'm sure the presenters did long shifts last year.

ITVNC was the only news channel to operate a normal schedule over Christmas. I remember Andrew Harvey doing breakfast on Christmas Day; with Chris Rogers and Heather McCarthy alternating throughout the day with ITV1 newsreader Andrea Catherwood. And of course, regular Christmas cover Jemma Woodman did overnights.

I notice that Jasmine Lowson voiced a report on the ITV Weekend News today. Makes a change from ITV2 and News Channel showbiz updates.

And London Tonight's Ronke Phillips had a package on the national news too,

Anglia's (former?) political editor Philip Gomm has been doing a lot of reporting recently as well.

For all those people who used to watch GMTV's predecessor TV-am, does anyone know if one of the original presenters, Robert Kee is still alive? If he still is, he will definietly be 85.

OK, not strictly ITV News related, but it was connected to the news... Anybody notice how they cut the weather short last night? only about 20 seconds or so into the forecast it was cut off by the Powergen advert thingy... I presume this happened because they seemed to be running a bit late - typical ITV1!
