London News Network, or now known as ITV's Southern Transmission Centre, it is where Network ITV1 is controlled from, it also controls all of the Southern ITV Stations and ITV Wales too.

What happened at 10.30pm? Did ITN start early? Or did LNN come in Late or something?
For those who missed it, it was the normal ITV1 ident and then cuts into the News, but cuts in after the titles should have been played.

It was 22:30.30 when ITV1 Presentation handed over to ITN. It seems that nobody told ITN that there was a slightly late start tonight.
Having said that, they did tell the ITV News Channel as the same happened there, adverts up to 22:30.25, an ITV News logo for 5 secs and then crashing in just the same as ITV1 did.
Meanwhile, Owen Thomas really is the TV enthusiast's presenter isn't he who says what we think. At 10pm the background in the second studio was a blown up shot of the UK Today logo. Just as I wondered what that was all about, Owen said 'Great to have you with us, we apologise for the slightly strange backdrop, we are working on it'. Would anyone else have done that? I don't think so

The presenter described the day as "very special" but admitted she had left it until the last minute to choose her hat.
She confessed: "I went to House of Fraser in Oxford Street and thought, `Oh my god, I haven't got a hat'. This was the first one I saw."

What is it about Owen that makes him stand out from the rest? He reads seriously, just like everyone else, he interracts with his co-presenters just like anyone else (apart from those boring people on news 24). But I just really like it when he's on. And I can't really think of an equivilent on the bbc or sky.

Adrian Finighan could be considered as a BBC euqivalent. He possesses all the talents and styles of Owen, although I have to say that Adrian is FAR more serious and capable as a journalist - IMO.
In fact, both of them used to work closely together at BBC World News in the Business Unit, having both been presenters of Business News and World Business Report.

I think the thing with Owen is that he has the knack of talking *to* the viewer, not *at* them.
And unlike some presenters who just stare at the camera with a fixed expression and read the autocue in a monotone, Owen uses his voice, facial expressions and his hands to emphasise certain points. It sounds naff, but he does it just right.
He is also a great interviewer.
