Anyone know where this was then? and could it be used as a studio reguarly?

Yes, it's the atrium at Gray's Inn Road. And I suspect it would be expensive and disruptive to use regularly.

and here's another one...from 1997

I notice that Andrea Catherwood has been filing reports for the ITV News over the last couple of days - could this lead to her becoming more of a regular reporter rather than a newsreader in the future? Especially now Steve Scott seems to be doing the Weekend News on a frequent basis.

In link with an earlier posting about the 1997 ITN General Election coverage, I remember Alastair Stewart presenting it - extraordinary to me, at least, because he had a fallout [I think] with ITN over the News At Ten incident of 1992, and was assigned with London News Network at the time, and it was the last time non-Londoners saw Alastair with a full set of black hair.

Unfortunately we were back to usual close of ITV News again last night. A bit disappointing, just when they were starting to use interesting camera shots !!!

I guess they used the 6:30 clock on the 6:25 Evening News, I tuned in a 6:26 and missed it.

Really if they wanted to be accurate they should use the Weekend News clock. Also, on the weekend news which is sometimes at 10:30 on Sundays, they still used the Weekend Clock (with the bottom cut off), they could've used the 10:30 clock really. Wink

Nice to see a wider shot than usual of the second studio used at the top of the hour at 6pm.

Shame about the mess bottom right ... and somehow it looks much less convincing than the main studio.

Wonder how much it cost them for that second desk, I would hate to think!

I've noticed before that items with a shiny or shrink-wrapped surface don't tend to work well in the studio because of their tendency to pick up a green reflection - look at the top of this shrink-wrapped board game...

If there's a photo on the front of a newpaper with a patch of green in it which they hold up to the camera, unsurprisingly it looks as if it has a hole in it.
