Why oh why is ITV News leading on this Diana tape crap?

And strangely they make no reference to the bit where she says: "...this ghastly interview the day we announced our engagement and this ridiculous ITN man said are you in love and I thought what a thick question..." Laughing

Did Diana really say that? Bets on who it could be - Alastair Burnet, Sandy Gall and Reginald Bosanquet.

Anyway, getting back to the Bill Neely scenario from earlier today, I'm not saying he should become Trevor's replacement, but it would be nice to see him become more featured on the 10.30.

or looking back, maybe it was quite perceptive!

I agree that the ITN caption should be changed. I mean, looking at a caption from the early 1990s, it is A LOT better IMO.

Mark Webster is back on the ITV Morning News. It's about time some credible newsreaders brought some dignity to it! Now, I know he gets a mauling everytime he gets a mention on this ITV News forum, but someone's got to agree Webster is much better than ITN's joint-worst ever newscasters Romilly Weeks and Sian "five Weathergirl" Jones. They're quite good reporting, but dreadful reading the news.
Also, I've noticed last Thursday she did the five Weather, then the next day, she did the Morning News - so, that must mean five Weather is recorded a few days back.

With the fickle British weather? I very much doubt it! No reason why she couldn't do the weather one day and Morning News the next, is there?

There is no reason, actually, but she'll be a bit tired if she is at work for nearly 24 hours.

Oh, I wonder what happened there: Alastair was talking to Claire Sweeney about her AIDS visit and when they went to adverts and you saw Alastair standing up and hugging Claire Sweeney. Now, you don't see that often! Bets on what it was: Claire crying, Alastair feeling sorry for her or being friendly.

Sasha Herriman is improving as a newscaster. At first, she was terrible, but now she is slowly improving, I reckon.
Also, where's the Snow Report? Are they doing it this year? Great music for the sponsors of the Snow Report last year.

Does anyone else remember Alastair Stewart being a subject on the programme This Is Your Life ? It must be around 1999, and the presenter of it, Michael Aspel gave the Red Book to Alastair. TRUE STORY.
