She's Ok i think she'll get better after a couple of weeks when she starts to feel more comfortable.
But does anyone else think its strange that they have brought in another female anchor when they already have a very strong female line up, but when trevor retires next year(if he does) they'll only have Mark and Nick. Is it not time they started bringing another male anchor onto ITV1. what do people think about Chris Rogers?

Well they have James Mates and Bill Neely, who are on ITV1 quite a bit. I would choose Bill, James is too quiet.

Did they create it so that it looked like the wall was behind and have long shots, etc. or did they just have the two, maybe three shots and just put the moving squares behind.
How come when they're in the second set they don't use it more than just as a simple CSO? Couldn't they use the model that they've got for reports where the wall looks far away, etc and do a few reports from the wall.
Though they don't use it that much in the main studio. They have fantastic technology, but they just seem to mostly use it as a CSO.
The only time I see it used often is for the summaries on Live with Alastair Stewart and within the Evening News Preview at 3pm.
Though I'm still not happy at how mixed line ups are etc.
They seem ok in the morning (even though they don't start properly until 7, when they're losing a good audience at 6am), and Alastair disapears (even though he could continue until 12:30 in the second studio, surely!), then after the lunchtime news, sometimes Nick's on, sometimes not, sometime's Leyla's on, sometime's everyone else is on, it's all too mixed.
And I don't understand why when they're in the second set you only usually have one newscaster instead of two.
Plus can't you also tell when they're in the second set when they use the Breaking News for Britain over the gallery or the ITV News end of titles sting.
Plus a couple of questions...
Why don't ITVi have a news service, or even just have their regular itvi service available on the ITV News Channel (and ITV3 for that matter) on Sky?
And do ITN have the capatibilities to broadcasr in widescreen, and if they do, why do they not, is their a technical reason or is it just through choice?

Trevor's interview with John Reid - recorded "earlier this evening" (8.05 according to the clock) was recorded in the second studio - the lack of newswall reflection in the desk and the black chair (they're grey/white in the main studio) are the giveaways.

Thinking about poaching (ooh i fancy an egg), what's to happen to five's Rob Butler and Charlier Stayt, are they both heading over from ITN to Sky, or will some be unemployed basically?

Oh I think they'll bring Steve Scott across on a more permanant basis. Bill Neely and James Mates are far too valuable as senior correspondents to be used as main presenters. OR, they could very well poach someone else in. Interesting to watch though.

I'm not sure I follow you. What do you mean "they just seem to mostly use it as a CSO"? As opposed to what? What would you rather they use it as?

They've just explained that they can't hold up the front page of today's Mirror during the newspaper round-up because of all the green...

Nice to see Owen make an appearance on the breakfast programme.

When Mary returns I can see Nina moving over to the Weekend News (like they did with Mary after she covered Kirsty Young's maternity leave!) and possibly Mark Austin replacing Trevor. Steve Scott would be the ideal replacement from within ITV News to replace Mark on the Evening bulletin.

So, is there no truth in the rumour that Jeremy Thompson is leaving Sky to join ITN? Or is that all years old news?
