Just had a look at that article about Carol Barnes -- it says she still presents ITN's 24-hour news channel. I didn't think she presented the ITV NC any more? I know she came back for the Iraq war, but I thought she had disappeared again since then.

She stayed around after the war until about this time last year. She then made a brief comeback in July and August this year, covering for Angela Rippon.

Yesterday's Independent media section had this interesting piece on how Nicholas Owen learnt his trade from Mike Neville at Look North.

According to the Radio Times, Nicholas Owen is going to be in Dictionary Corner all next week on Countdown, so I guess he might mention the odd thing when he gets his chance to speak.

Maybe it was bumped off the running order by the Arafat breaking news?

Odd to see Bill Neely shift from the presenter's seat on the 10.30 to the guest's bench on the News Channel immediately afterwards.

beat me too it also the market update was back tonight

so which regions can and can't get the itv news channel as i can't and i live in yorkshire. i did not relise how much i used to watch it and i miss it now Crying or Very sad

Same here! I really miss it! I think its only currently London and Scotland that can view the ITV News Channel atm! (correct me if im wrong........)

also do itn/itv news produce merchandice. i have an itn mouse but what else can you get.

As far as I know, the north west of England can receive it too.


Unfortunately, Winter Hill (North West) hasn't got the ITV News Channel, but hopefully it might be one of the regions to get the news channel back next month.
