How much does it cost to advertise, or putting it another way. How much money would ITV/each region get for showing one advert in the middle of the 10:30?

I don't think it would be much, as News at 10:30 only averages out at about 2.5 Million per night, nothing compared to the old News At Ten or even the ITV Nightly News. But then again no other commercial channel has a higher slot at that time usually.

And for your question about each ITV region I believe it would only be a few thousand pounds, in your bigger ITV regions a 30 second slot during Coronation Street can cost around £60,000. Though I am not sure if its true or if thats National.

But those stupid Advertising advertising promos usually say a 'campaign' can cost as low as £4000.

Ah, the Nightly News - they should have stuck with it!

I guess if there is no break in the bulletin, the time is put on after the bulletin - or perhaps there is a link to when there is no mid-bulletin break and no-pre bulletin break.

If there's a break in the Evening News there will often be no break in the 10.30, and vice-versa.

Though this pattern doesn't always apply.

It's now more than 8 months since the ITV News relaunch, and STILL they are producing packages for the ITV1 bulletins on a practically daily basis with graphics that are obscured by the slug when the packages are shown on the News Channel.

I see from Sky's roundup of the front pages that this story is on the front page of Thursday's Daily Mirror
MP sorry over Sir Trevor jibe

The Mirror was not one of the front pages featured at the end of the 10.30 tonight!

Incidentally, I have noticed recently that the News Channel no longer seems to use GMTV correspondents on the breakfast programme - I wonder why they have stopped doing that?

There has been a falling out - it was a "goodwill" agreement but the News Channel didn't give much in return so GMTV withdrew the use of its correspondents - for now anyway.

With ITV's stake in GMTV it would make sense long-term for ITV News to take-over the news service at breakfast time. John and Penny could present the News Hour from the ITV News Studio, which would fill the repeat hour on ITVNC too! Very Happy

It would take away the feeling of GMTV though I think.

I think it would make more sense the other way around, showing the GMTV Newshour on the ITV News Channel.

It depends if it still has the competitions and some lifestyle features though, if it's not properly news!

Even so, a live simulcast of the News Hour would IMO be infinitely preferable to the current back-to-back repeats of the Morning News.

Ive noticed ITV News are now using new graphics as such in the "4squares" on the newswall. They are wavy lines, and have only been used this week. They dont match the current look, so wonder if this is a preview of whats to come, as in slight changes on Nov 1st? They do look a little like ITV3's background.
