ITV News

The regional presenters like Jonathan, Lucy Owen et al often do a PM shift at ITN on Saturday and an AM shift on Sunday, presumably to allow travel time back to their 'home' region for the new working week.

Seems odd as she still did the afternoon shift on the news channel and only came in for a five minute summary for ITV1.

Good to see Lucy on the Weekend News!

I get the point about introducing some NC presenters to ITV1, but though it may benefit the news channel, I think it's bad for the bulletins.

I think the ITV Weekend News has gone downhill alot since it lost it's regular presenter, as now it's generally someone different each weekend. I think they should stick Steve Scott as the main weekend presenter, with him also being the main understudy to Mark Austin on the Evening News who is bound to take more days off once he doubles up with the 10.30pm!

They'll also need a regular understudy for the 10.30 - I think James Mates is probably the most likely candidate at the moment!

God knows what they'll do with Nina once Katie returns - though knowing ITV News it won't be too long until someone else is up the duff!

Interesting move to see that Lucy Alexander was on ITVNC this afternoon.
Is this part of some changes for lucy at ITV. I'd like to see her stay with the week morning shift as she's a welcome alternative to the braindeads on elsewhere.

She took Hazel Blears apart in an interview quite nicely today , not difficult i admit but it did make for entertaining viewing, It's the most aggresive I've seen lucy on the news.

Nina is better than these other ITV presenters who are away. I don't miss Catherwood or Derham . They are like some of these other top anchors on other channels, I don't see why they hold the position when there are people around who are palpably better at that job. I cant watch the ITV and BBC evening news now because of the current presenters. I find myself wishing a lot of these women will become pregnant , perhaps continuously for a few years!

What was the problems at the end of tonight's Evening News?

Yeh I agree about Catherwood and Derham they are just dull. What were the problems at the end of the evning news I didn't catch the end?
