Lucy Owen has had a long shift today - she was on first thing this morning and is still presenting now.

And she is still on now, she must be on until Midnight tonight. I guess that means we wont see a lot of her (if at all) on ITV Wales News this week. Sad

Oh no I'm afraid Wales is out of the question -- she's far too busy introducing all her local news presenting methods to the good people of London. This weekend, it was the <concerned wide-eyed nodding head> approach to interviewing people about boring issues.

I suppose it's better than having your hand up a puffin, but it's having an extraordinary effect on her accent [again].

LOL

Of course Lucy would NEVER turn her back on Wales would she -Peanut wouldnt allow it. Wink

Good to see the schedule getting back to 'normal' on the News Channel - Joyce Ohajah has finally returned, and Steve and Felicity have been reunited.

Nice to see ITV News showing a Tonight with Trevor McDonald interview with Christopher Reeve from a couple of years ago, though Joyce Ohajah came on at 11pm after a very long commercial break and God knows how many of those pointless ITV News promos.

Though it has come to me that ITVNC doesn't show the Tonight programme as much as they used to.

And I missed it. I don't mind them actually - great music to it.

It would have been great to see James Mates grilling Michael Mates MP, instead of Alastair Stewart so James will probably say "What do you make of the Inquiries, Dad.. I mean Michael...?

I'm surprised that nobody has commented on the (temporary) disappearance of ITV News on DTT in some parts of the country prior to the launch of ITV3.

Someone on Digital Spy posted this:

...which shows the MHEG that will be on channel 41 from all transmitters except Crystal Palace whilst engineering works are carried out.

I think it has been mentioned in the ITV3 thread.

More alarming though is the extensive coverage given by the ITV News Channel to today's David Beckham 'story'!!!!!!

I thought ITV News had steered away from such stories of late!

ITV News has now disappeared from Freeview in my area. Ch.41 now displays this . . .

Anyone bothered to call the 0870 number to get "more information" about it?

Interesting article in Broadcast this week with the editor of the ITV News Channel saying they will become number one news channel. As he puts it he has well known names on unlike Sky or N24. He also says his place on the Sky EPG is the main reason they do so badly.

Well, as the girl once said, "he would say that, wouldn't he?!"

And surely tricky when as soon as it gets slightly established, it disappears on the platform where (for EPG regions or otherwise) it has the best figures...
