Come on, I don't see why you like Mark Webster. The way he has dealt with Breaking News and unscheduled live reports makes him an experienced newsman. Mind you, he's being hosting the Morning News since, at least, 1989, that I know of.
EDITED I don't see why you don't like Mark Webster. He can be quite comical - at some rare times - but I think I have found out why he doesn't say "Welcome back" after the break - he probably thinks every little bit of his live news hour will be recorded and knows, perhaps, the NC is recorded overnight and knows there any no adverts. Could that be the reason?
I dont particualry like Mark Webster either! His voice is weak and he doesnt look comfortable sitting their either. As a news reporter he is great but NOT presenter material! Simple as that really!
Great cock-up just now - we stayed with the studio output throughout the ad break, so we got to see Phil Gayle get up from his chair, wave his arms around in a theatrical fashion. Then the floor manager ran on to the set to hand Phil the tablet PC for a newswall presentation, and we watched Phil work out which cameras he needed to look at for the next item.
Lucy Owen has had a long shift today - she was on first thing this morning and is still presenting now.
And she is still on now, she must be on until Midnight tonight. I guess that means we wont see a lot of her (if at all) on ITV Wales News this week.
Oh no I'm afraid Wales is out of the question -- she's far too busy introducing all her local news presenting methods to the good people of London. This weekend, it was the <concerned wide-eyed nodding head> approach to interviewing people about boring issues.
I suppose it's better than having your hand up a puffin, but it's having an extraordinary effect on her accent [again].
