No, your not alone Luke. I really can't see the point of having scheduled "programmes" on a rolling news channel, seems utterly poinltess.
I suppose if some effort were put into it then it could work, but essentially a news channel should be that, not have personality type programming.

am I the only one who thinks that calling a programme on television 'Drivetime' doesn't make any sense whatsoever?
that said, I've never seen why they haven't knocked up a set of titles or a sting for ITV News Network and UK Today.

Point taken and I can also see that arguement. Although a few terms such as "Drvietime" now seem to have become so broad it could apply to anything.
I think it's pointless with all the Sky News hype about specific programmes for the "others" to start chasing after them with their own varitey of "programmes".
Start as you mean to go on and everything...

no don't get me wrong - there's nothing wrong with programmes on a news channel. I was referring to the naming of a TV strand as 'Drivetime' - which i would have thought should only apply to a radio show (as it refers to those driving home while listening).

It's already been done though over and over again since that ITV4 logo came out. What will happen is that people will build it up to thinking that ITV News will have a major rebrand and then when it comes down to just minor changes there will be disapointment all round.
Oh go back to bed Andrew. There really isn't anything wrong with innocuous speculation. It deserves to be in this thread too IMO , as it is completely relevent to ITV News and the presentation.
Don't be disheartened ladies and gents. Jan 16th (at current deadlines!) will see the whole ITV network relaunch. For News, this will mean brand new titles for national and NC including all content, plus a new look for regions. Watch this space and continue the debate! The Sky one's been ever so entertaining!!

what's wrong with a bit of harmless speculation - or is that not allowed now?
Given that ITV will have an entirely new logo - what's to say that the NC won't take the opportunity to freshen things up a bit (hopefully it'll still be around by then).

OH
You beat me to it Londoner! lol
Felicity was anchoring from outside Westminster and also interviewing people including Theresa May and Derek Laud from Big Brother. Also Daisy Mcandrew was on hand near-by interviewing other politicians.
It has been quite a good hour so far with a gushing Alexis Bowater from Westcountry News making Mary Nightingale laugh for some reason.
Mary was in the studio presenting the 'other news' but seemed to have a sneezing fit just before 15:30 and couldnt read the headlines out loud - instead the music played and the normal headlines played without any voice.
Also just after 15:30 Mary seemed to be losing her voice or having another sneezing fit.
The woman from London Today has now taken over from Mary around 15:45. This is the same woman, who as 14:57 attempted to read out what was coming up in the next hour but just threw her arms up in the air and said "just stay tuned to see what is coming up!" (lol) It was quite funny!
