Are there ITV News summaries overnight and who presents these bulletins? Rachel McTavish on a weekday?

Whoever's doing the Morning News. This tends to be Rachel McTavish or Isha Sesay, working 7 days on, 7 days off. Sian Jones regularly crops up on the overnight shift too.

On weekdays the overnight presenter also does the London Today bulletins during GMTV.

What times are these bulletins, and are they live? If they are live, then why must the ITVNC have looping prerecords of the News at Ten Thirty for hours on end? I know barely anybody watches at this time (myself included) but BBC News 24 does this.

GMTV regional opt outs are at 6.35am, 7.05am and 8.05am - as far as I know they are live.

I don't think they are live and the times do vary. In the old days the times also varied from region to region hence "I'll be back with more news later!".

Talking about tommorow's Morning News, let's hope she gets it right if it ends up being repeated 5 times!

It's the oldset saying for the ITN Overnight bulletins, "More News Later", takes me back to the days when either Tim Wilcox or Denis Tuhoy used to do the Nights on ITV.

I don't see why they say it these days, they know what time they'll be next on ITV1 and it has next to no Regional variation except for the odd thing on Scottish and Grampian's Night Time TV.

I also suppose its because the night time schedule is so fluid, unless the newsroom have access to the schedule they won't know when they are back, plus "I'll be back with more news in 1 hour 45 minutes" or "I'll be back with more at 3:47" would sound a bit stupid

This morning at 7 and half past there was no headline sequence just the Live with music and straight to Isha Sesay for the main story

Not even the proper Live with music used on either programme (Morning News & Live with John Nicolson), it should be the main National News sting with the last beat slightly modified so that it can link in with the headlines bed (the News Channel recap one).

I see what you mean, but they could easily say "The Next News will be just before 3:50" or "The Next News will be after The Paul O'Grady Show".

ITVNC currently repeating the 10pm output with 'Recorded Earlier' bug, presumably being played out by Arquiva/NTL rather than ITN.

Rather obvious it's not being played out by ITN as the bug is placed over the clock, it doesn't help that the bug is also slightly transparent.
