She was really good this morning - another presenter i'd like to see is jasmine lowson - ex big breakfast news - she was on the other day as an ents reporter - very good banter.

I also noticed that Joanna G did the sports section - is this a permanent thing for the breakfast show...? It looked ,much better. All they need now is better Business News

I dont think ITV News Channel *wants* to become more serious on the business front. By doing so will result in becoming more like SKY¦News or BBC News 24(!) ITV NC seem to be a bit more tabloidy (wherever possible) with the inclusion of 'Showbiz reports' throughout each evening.

I suppose your 'typical' ITV NC viewer is not interested in shares and business news and so the small 20 second item each hour is sufficient. Whether this is correct for what most people think on this forum is also debatable.......

I have found a brilliant website about John Suchet:
www.johnsuchet.co.uk

On the website: information about his stage shows, his books, his events and biography plus contact John - well, his agents anyway.

Anyway, I was at work when the ITV Morning News was on and Mark Webster was very professional as a newscaster and the layout was very good for 5.30 in the morning. [I started work at 5am, if you want to know.] The layout had an unusual two live reports one after the other, with Robert Moore live in Washington via telephone [maybe, he had his pyjamas on and was ready to go to bed - that could have been why it was done via 'phone].
And, an excellent Breaking News story which Webster did perfectly, handing over to Dan Rivers on a nuclear-carrying ship.

So, a very well done Morning News on ITV1 today.

I noticed Heather was on earlier - she hasn't been on for a while has she.
I wonder if we're going to see a more rigid presenter timetable soon - originally most of the slots contained the intended presenters. Now the Breakfast show is rarely Andrew and Lucy together, and Steve and Felicity are much the same. I wonder if we're going to see a mini revamp with sport and ents presenters too. Also the 7-8 hour needs 2 presenters

Maybe they are planning a mini-revamp on 1 November with the rest of the ITV channels?

I mentioned ITV News's conference brochure a couple of weeks ago - here it is:

Interesting pics James, why is it the clock from that view and in that style would look better on TV?

Anyway how many Politcal reporters does 'Central/Westcountry' need? Laughing

There was also a good cock up on the NC at 11.50am today, it came back from a break, no-one at all cued the 'Breaking News for Britain' thing to come in screen, so it was just a shot of the control room for ages, then the person in the room realised this and switched to the Break filler and then went back to the control room and things went smoothly second time round.

They do don't they? The clock starts from that point, spins to the right, and then goes through it to the cubes.

What I don't understand is why they've used the 10:30 one, why didn't they just use the on the hour, and it's close up too!

Since when is the little hand ON the 11 when a clock reads 10.30?
