Well if ITV are to ditch the 4 squares as their logo, then i'd imagine that regional news and national news etc. will all get new titles.

They won't need to have big changes really - just the end animation of the titles and the astons, with just the virtual backdrops changing for ITV1.

I can imagine it being something like the ITV logo on screen, then the right hand strip moving out to reveal the "NEWS" part of the logo.

Anyone noticed the 'Evening News EXTRA' adverts on the NC today?

Looks good, just what the NC is wanting at 7pm aswell. Sounds like Lunchtime News' 'Pulse' but not just on one subject to me.

Is anyone else as fed up with ITV Evening News's constant use of music in their news reports? As an example, tonight's music was on a political report (!) about how two different newspaper reporters reacted to Blair's speech. Don't ITV News have any political folk of their own who could analyse this? Or better still don't do any analysis - show s bigger chunks of the speech and let us make our own mind up. ITV - you report, we'll decide!

Rahit Kachroo has clearly not returned to his region, so I suppose he is now working for ITV News, possibly as freelance?

From reports on Digital Spy the problem only seems to affect some regions. I've seen the ITV NC in both Meridian and London regions today and both are in correct 4:3.
