A break here in London before the ITV Evening News tonight.

Strange, Scotland Today had a break during the programme aswell (which never happens).

Tyne Tees went to a break at 6.10pm.

Well the LT break was reasonably long, i think it went from the top of 18.27 to bang on 18.30...the fact that the other regions had an odd break midway through the bulletins would explain why there was no announcer going into the Evening News here...

yes he does cover quite abit. There was a break in Central as well.

Wish they would use more of these on ITV1 aswell as the NC. They seem to have stopped the News at 10.30's unique closes.

Actually, I think they've made more of an effort with them this week; there have been shots of the cameras etc. for the closing credits.

There seems to be a new shift pattern on the News Channel at weekends, with one less presenter required than before. As a result, they no longer have any double-headed presentation on weekend afternoons. Instead the duty ITV1 presenter does the 3pm hour on the News Channel (as well as their usual 8pm/9pm NC appearance).

Also, all mention of Angela Rippon has now been removed from the ITN website.She's gone from the News Channel presenters page, and her picture on the front page has been replaced by Felicity Barr.

So I take it that means she has departed permantly. I thought she was just having a long summer break a la Eamon Holmes style.
