It's about time we see Andrew Harvey on the main ITN News bulletins on ITV1 - he's been there since 2000 and to my knowledge, has only done one ITV1 News bulletin once and that was in 2001, standing in for John Suchet on the ITV Lunchtime News. Maybe, he could do the odd News At 10.30 or Evening News. Viewers will already know him during the years when BBC News was great on the Six o'clock and 9 o'clock News bulleltins. It's about time we saw him on ITV1, before Andrew retires. I believe he is 60 so ITN must have persuaded him to stay on.
Also, am I the only one who are peeved off with ITV, and maybe ITN, that they did not do a tribute to John Suchet on his last day on the 25th March of this year. That might have brought a one-off appearance from the likes of Alastair Burnet or Sandy Gall. Or somebody who is well-known to, at least, done a report for the then-soon to retire Mr Suchet. How come that wasn't done? Time restrictions? I think if they cut the regional news to be a brief summary, then they could have fitted a John Suchet tribute on. They did it for Alastair Burnet and I bet you there will be a 'goodbye' report to Trevor McDonald - but why not John Suchet [and I understand it is 7 months ago now]?

Actually Andrew did do several weekend bulletins in 2001 as well. But i do think that he should be given his own shifts on ITV1, we know that he is capablie after his time with the BBC.

I wonder if the ITV News Channel will stay with Michael Howard's speech or show the ITV Lunchtime News instead?

Andrew Harvey has hosted the Weekend News at least once - but that's about it. His morning shift makes him a natural stand in for Nicholas Owen.
As for John Suchet - no newsreader is more important than the news, so unlike general magazine programmes, it's not usually highly appropriate for a tribute to a newsreader, although does usually get a mention. I'm sure more would have been done if he had been co-hosting with someone.

A new woman presenter for the news channel alongside everyone's favourite Phil Gayle - Vanessa Langford. Is she regional?

She's ex-Liquid News. Previously she was an LBC/IRN showbiz correspondent
She was a studio guest on the News Channel yesterday as 'entertainment correspondent', and she has also deputised for Tamzin on London Tonight
