For some reason we didn't get the VT on a report just now - the audio was fine, but Joyce remained in vision... and she seemed thrilled to be there:

I thought she was arts correspondant? I suppose it doesn't really matter as Martin Geisler (Scotland Correspondant) has done reports on Katrina. Will Nina be presenting news bulletins again, like back in the day?
The problem ITN has is a shortage of reporters. When there's a really big story they tend to just throw every correspondent they've got at it. Any 'beat' the reporter is usually on is ignored. Hence Nina Nannar doing a non-arts story.
I think even the BBC had to do something similar when the tsunami hit - and they've got an army of correspondents.

I meant to say, it seems Nina Nannar is back. I'm sure I heard her sign off a report about Hurricane Katrina the other night. Anyone confirm it?

Hi! (this is my fist ever post)
Oh dear. Today the ITV lunchtime news almost completely fell apart. It was all going well like usual before the break and Alistair did a good piece in the virtual studio with graphics on the floor.
But after the first break, the show fell apart. They jumped in with a live link on the Pulse with a famous umpire which went very well and Alistair and Nina answered a call and discussed it with him. Then the live link with the umpire was cut when the colour bars and tone came on for a good 5 seconds. When the studio tried to communicate with him again they got the picture back but only a bleeping tone when he spoke. So they quickly wrapped that up and Alistair said something like ‘Viewers at home know that things like that happen, but we are just trying to inform (the famous umpire) about the situation. So they took another call without him. When they were talking on the call, the studio sound went out and neither the viewer nor the caller could hear Alistair and Nina. Then they introduced their guest – I think he was called Sky Andrews. And the Guest starts talking about how football won’t be beaten in his popularity by cricket, and it would only happen if England won. Alistair burst out ‘That’s rich with what’s happened in your games’ or something similar, which I don't think was scripted. Then they continued talking to him and his mic fell off. So, the presenters tried to hide it and carried on talking about something, but the camera was left on a wide shot and you could see the guest pulling up his mic cable and literally about 100 wires in a bunch came up on to the bench in the background. Then, there was a cut to the two presenters and there was a bit of a zoom in mistake. Finally to top it all off, when Nina and Alistair were introducing the break, the presenter’s sound cut out.
After the break, everything was fine.

I noticed this aswell. The colour bars had UTV Belfast on them which I was slightly confused at as it was coming from Leeds. Also, just before the break I think Alistair spoke too early because they were going to play a short clip of the couragous 7/7 bus driver as you could hear it but Alistair was talking over him! A shot of a TV screen at the edge of the newswall could be seen aswell but was removed after the break.
And welcome to TV Forum by the way!

Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but I spotted this on the IRN wires whilst at work today:
"Some of the biggest TV names from the eighties will be making a brief comeback to our screens.
Selina Scott and Julia Somerville have been invited back to mark ITN's fiftieth birthday.
The BBC's Anna Ford will also jump channels, to present the ITV Evening News bulletin as a one-off.
Other names include Martyn Lewis and TV-am's Gordon Honeycombe."
EXCELLENT News! Good on ITN for going a bit further than the norm for this.
